Design Memory Lane: Mac Mini Ad Series
Memory lane is a new blog post type that I'll be doing regularly. Basically the idea is to look back at something I did in the past - the good and the bad about it. Hopefully it will be an interesting exercise for me and for any of you reading.

Shining the Light Towards Success
Every year at the University where I work, the people in the Student Life division take part in a day of workshops and professional development opportunities. This year, I got to do the logo for the event. I'd been seeing a lot of cute stacked type logos in old school styles on Pinterest and wanting to try my hand. It never seemed to fit a project until this one. After a LOT of thumbnailing to try to cement the details, I did several different versions of the logo. Some were entirely hand done, some were part hand type and part fonts. In the end, I used existing fonts and manipulated slightly where needed to create the effect I wanted - and I'm frankly thrilled with the outcome.
